Is there a way to select all of the SAME note in a piano roll?

This same request has been made in the Notion section.

I write drum parts on my old X3 then transfer them as MIDI to a track. Consequently, a given note is actually a particular instrument sounding. So a random example might be C3 = Snare hit. If I wish to change all my snare hits to a different sound (aka note in piano roll), velocity, etc I have to drag painstakingly. A "Word Processor like" Shift+End or Shift+> would be killer!!

Thanks

HI,

Press the Control Key on your keyboard and then on the piano roll at left of midi window click the note you want (e.g closed hit-hat). Every instance of that note pitch is selected and highlighted in orange. You can then move it to different hi-hat  sounds as you wish - in this instance to see how a 1/4 shank might sound instead. below is pic of the snare being selected.

It also allows you to amend the velocities etc of just that single instrument sound. It's one of the best features of S1 midi editing.

Just be cautious if you work your drum midi track in sections. this method will only work on the current selection, so if you want to change teh note for the whole track then ensure you merge all the sections in the drum track (highlight them and click G)

On windows you in edit view can use the computer keyboard key "alt gr" + "mouse click on the note in the piano roll".
On a MAC i guess there is a similar possibility.

@LBH Do you think you could elaborate on the "alt gr" + mouse click on the note?

I'm trying this and not seeing the desired result. My interpretation is holding the alt key, the g key and the r key down

simultaneously then clicking on the note. (c3 for example)  In studio one, this does not cause every instance of the note in the track to highlight.

I've also tried other combinations on this.

Perhaps my interpretation is incorrect?

So far, my only work around for what slovejoy is looking for, is to use the explode midi to tracks, which creates a separate track for each note. From that point, you can simply use the windows command ctr A to highlight all of them and drag up or down depending on which drum you want. (or use the transpose feature)

answer by gregdenson: CTRL+Left mouse click will do too. Either way, this function only works for a single part.
