Passive Eris 4.5 speaker not producing high frequencies

Just got the Eris 4.5 and setup them up. I'm using a focusrite solo interface and took the Left and Right RCA cables and jacked them into AUX IN input, but for some reason the passive speaker only plays the low muddy frequencies with no highs and the active speaker plays audio just fine. Is my setup wrong or is my speaker limp?

Contact the dealer you purchased from, and get an exchange for a good unit.
