GEQ on the board and on iPad

Hello:

I am using StudioLive AI 16.4.2

Is there a difference in functionality of GEQ that I see on the board compared with the GEQ available on the iPAD?

No.

The iPad UC Surface App is just a Software control view of the mixer itself. There is no difference, as you are controlling the same function.
