Is there going to be integration for NI Komplete Kontrol Mk2 Keyboards? I am starting to think after 2 years of request for the MK1 keyboards Presonus did not do anything of NI Users. Starting to question my DAW at this point.......

The ball is in Presonus' court now. This is the latest from Native Instruments:

Chris @ NIMonday at 18:37
Hello David,

Our Development Team is in talks with Presonus about this already. An SDK has been provided to Presonus for adding Host Integration Support to Studio One, so it is up Presonus to decide if and when they would like to implement this into Studio One. Beyond this, we have no further information available.

MCU support is still something that is planned, but I don't have any information on when that will get added to the Komplete Kontrol MK2 keyboards.

Presonus come on .Your customers shouldn’t suffer because you are in a ******* contest with Native Instruments. This is not the way you get people to by the atom .Atom is good but I don’t want to buy another pad controller,I want to use my Maschine mk3.Really ,is this too much to ask for.At least respond to your customers, we deserve it.

Please fire your product owner. What in the f is wrong with you guys? You as console shaping and other redundant ***** instead of addressing an actual user pain point?

At least give a response here! Customer centricity or death, guys. This is how software business works. Can't be so hard to implement an API like this. Or at least shoot an answer here.

I'm really angry to have spent money on v4.
I will not upgrade again if you continue to ignore user requests like this.

I upgraded from Studio One 3 Artist to Studio One 4 Pro (also bought the PSO and a few other extras) about half a year ago hoping that NI's new Komplete Kontrol keyboards would be supported in the future.
In the meantime the S2 series came and went, then A series, and now as the M32 just released we still have no word on whether Studio One support for these keyboards is planned or not.
The DAW itself is very good but having to keep two separate midi controllers for the transport is very annoying.

While I understand the appeal of the ATOM, I already own a Maschine Mikro, a Komplete Kontrol and am not planning on buying another DAW controller anytime soon.

Unbelievable. I was a user of v3 for a while but just to track occasional vocals but did most of my other work in Maschine. Decided it was time to completely switch to a real DAW and bought v4.. and this bulls**t is what Ive come to find out? Just when I was about to get a faderport and the atom... Gonna give this a month then im selling my license and every piece of Presonus gear i have if its not figured out. Such a terrible way to treat customers who simply want to use the best available gear and softwares, and pay a lot to do so.. and it doesnt even make sense? Not like you guys have a competing product line? Paid a lot of money for my KK board and a lot of time getting familiar with it. AND NO RESPONSE IS THE WORST PART. So disrespectful. Ableton here i come.

I am also extremeley disappointed. I love the workflow of studio one but the lack of hardware support for other companies is appaling. I will be moving over to Live next chance I get.

Wow, get this working already! Some people have made scripts for it to work in bitwig and reaper single-handedly so how hard can it be for a whole team of developers to make it happen?  Dealbreaker for me and apparently a lot of other people. It's not like you'll be loosing customers. Just stupid.

I hear Cubase is finally getting ARA implementation. That was the one thing keeping me on Studio One. Lack of NKS/3rd party hardware support, lack of support for external sound editors like RX is a deal breaker for me. You can't do it all PreSonus, so please do us a favor and focus on what you are good at while allowing us to easily interface with the other tools in our box.

Here’s another up vote!

Have you guys seen the M32? I’m a big ambassador for Studio One in the entry level world but this is a powerful entry level offering and people aren’t gonna be happy trying out a DAW that doesn’t allow the dope features for newbie producers that Logic, Cubase, GarageBand, and Ableton now offer that we don’t. Hard to recommend the workflow of S1 for this customer group when it comes with the asterisk of “oh but you have to buy an Atom / Faderport too, that slick Native Instruments system doesn’t work here, trust me SO can do other stuff that isnt as quickly apparent once you spend more money”. I mean SO IS better but its a hard sell, just not an economical choice if you can't utilize some of NI's budget offerings :) If they don't try out the DAW because it's neglecting this market segment, how are they gonna pay for upgrades/addons later?

Was thinking about moving to Studio One from Ableton being also a happy owner of NI Komplete Kontrol s61 MK2. Was lucky enough to come across this post before buying. What a shame.. They seem not even give a f*** to answer anything to their customers. Is that really a thing in 2019? A company which is making business in a relatively small niche and doesn't bother to reply to their users? Good luck with your business. Ableton, i'm coming back.

Good News on this issue. Native Instruments made this announcement on their Community Forum today:

Hi all,

MCU Support for Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2 and A-Series (including M32) keyboards is currently in development and is nearing completion. It will be available for beta testing on Centercode shortly, and will be available as part of the next Komplete Kontrol software release.

Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Best,

Adil

One more reason why integration gets delayed is efforts to push us away from old protocols (MCU) and adopt newer, better ways to do things. Evidence of this is what's coming to Studio One and Nektar controllers on May 21st:

Cubase is 50% off at the moment. I'm about to leave Studio One. It's been way too long since MK2 was asked for.
You guys should have a serious talk with your product owner.

Yes.. if next week's update makes Nektar the preferred MIDI controller for Studio One... this is a bit of a slap in the face to all the KK Mk2 owners.

Hoping this isn't the case and next week's update is good news for both Nektar owners AND KK Mk2!

(and when I say both Nektar owners, I do mean those two guys...(Ha.. couldn't resist my own setup.. actually Nektar is pretty cool too)

Sad that v4.5 targeted many top-voted requests, but this wasn't part of it, despite arguably having the most votes (if all of the similar requests for this are considered in total).

I am about to jump ship. Presonus obviously has zero interest in integrating Komplete Kontrol keyboards in their DAW.  They boast over 70 new features in the new update, but not one of them is “when you push play on your NI controller, Studio One plays”.  I’ve sacrificed my workflow long enough.  This is really disappointing.

Goodbye, Studio one, Hello, Logic Pro.

I’m using Ableton Live, It have great Integration with NI KK MK2. I’m mainly using the NI keyboards because it support NKS, all my VST’s are premapped, and you can see each parameter in the high definition screen, the sounds are taggued so you can search and pre listen all your NKS presets (and there is hundreds of VSTs) ....  it’s really a great workflow. tbh I don’t see any alternative as convenient as this, this why I chooses this.

Sadly, after two years, and a paid 4.0 update, and with 4.5 my hopes vanished, I lost the faith on Presonus interest to support the Hyped hardware in their DAW (no Push Support, Maschine,...etc).

And when you see that’s #2 request, if not the #1 if you cumulate all NKS, NI KK MK2 integration different requests/questions here.... I’m really really disappointed

At least Presonus give us a clear statement that you are not planning to support NI keyboard officially, It will be more honest toward your legit customers.

I’m using daily Ableton now to compose record music, and just SO to record and comp voices (as it’s not yet implemented in Live). With the 50% Cubase CrossGrade (166 $ ), I’ll certainly jumping on the train before the promotion ends just to simplify my workflow :(

Thanks for the updates in 4.5, but it's pretty clear that Presonus's direction is to shun 3rd party support in favor of producing it's own hardware. Understandable to a certain degree, but for S1 to ever become a true fully featured standalone DAW, it must do better in this area. So I just purchased Cubase Pro and I'm completely in love with it so far. So long S1...it could have been a beautiful thing between us.

Same here. I will purchase Studio One instantly once it starts to integrate with my NI gear. Komplete Kontrol, Maschine Jam, or NKS, whatever it is I just want my M32 keyboard and My Maschine Jam to start to work! Please guys, once this is added you will get a ton of new users. I think it's one of the most requested items to add. NI gear support.

I could be just imagining this but???
my Kontrol A49 is completely integrated with Studio one.
Transport, Scrub Knob, Faders, etc etc What more are you guys waiting for?

Beyond that ive templated all my favorite Waves, Fab filters, Even Slate Digital stuff to the keyboards faders.
We are missing the ability to Route the Quantize to Quantize  or use the Arp out side of Kontrol software.. Much like any other daw.

Completely satisfied with PRESONUS and NI partnership atm.

The mixer is not implemented yet, and maschine is still out of buisness in this matter, its funny that this and the retroperspective recording witch is popular feature requests, still are being held in the dark, and presonus claims that they "listen to their customers", gtfoh

Why is this still an issue? I've been with Studio One since the first version but come on. Everything I want to use just doesn't get touched by PreSonus, from the Komplete Kontrol MK2 to MPE with the LinnStrument/Roli.

I think it's time to switch even though I've spent a decent chunk over the years with PreSonus, both software and hardware.

Finally, Presonus and Native Instruments has brought some integration between some of the NI keyboard controllers and the latest version of Studio One 4.5.3. Komplete Kontrol for Maschine MK3 will probably find its way into the Studio One sometime within the next 6 months or next major release. I can finally buy that new S61 MK3 now - whenever NI releases it.  https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033104152-Komplete-Kontrol-Support-in-Studio-One-4-version-4-5-3-
