So I will get even lower latency with an aggregate device than with a single device?

I find this hard to believe, please explain..

yes. basically Mac's aggregate devices work as buffer + router before the actual drivers. thus, it will work slower than a single device and there is no way around it.

p.s. you can create an aggregate device of one device and check it yourself.
