Question

My problem is the following. I bought the AudioBox USB interface and my problem is that when I connect the microphone to the interface and the speakers it sounds good but when I record the audio with the microphone it sounds very low. I also hear very low the program itself, the instruments…, (I use Studio One 3 Artist). Also, if I play a Youtube video with the speakers connected to the interface, it sounds very low. When I connect the speakers directly to the PC it is heard good but when I connect them to the interface connected to the PC, it is heard very low. It also sounds good if I use the speakers of the laptop with anything connected. I have checked the sound settings of the laptop and they are at maximum. How could I make everything louder?

I use: AudioBoxUSB interface, Studio one 3 Artist, laptop HP 250 G1 Notebook PC, microphone ********* XM8500, midi keyboard M-Audio Axiom air 32 mini, speakers Edifier Studio R1700BT, operating system Windows 10 home 64 bits

There seem to be several issues. Set your input level correctly. Around -18 dbFS average is a pretty good value. Don't drive your signal too hot. Check your output levels in Studio One (e.g. master fader). Use your Main volume knob to set the volume correctly.

Thank you very much for answering, I put it to -18dbFS, and in the end I realized that what happened was that I had the mixer wheel at the minimum so I turned it, and then it sounded high. Unfortunately, I now have another problem that scares me, that consist  on that from time to time sound like huge sparks from the speakers and I don'n know why it is.
