Say I want to add a fourth drum to the lineup or I missed on initially. I would like to be able to insert a blank channel between the third drum and the next channel so the fourth is in the correct place.

Alternatively, I would like to remove a floor tom channel since today the fill in drummer only has three.

Just a couple of examples.

I have requested a similar FR for the UC for 192, but I think you might also be talking about the UC software? If so I agree. +1

Actually now that I look at this closer it  doesn't address the issues I have.
I would like whole sections that you're not using to be removed from the view.  If you are not using the ADAT channels we should be able to collapse them so the output is next to the input channels.
In addition hide individual inputs and outputs that are not being used to make the most compact and pertinate view.

Yes to this! *********’s x air and Midas have the ability to easily organize channels regardless of how the are plugged in and has the ability to remove channels not being used. Volunteers love that feature more than anything. It makes the interface less intimidating when there are not so many channels. And it makes it so much easier to put channels in a logical order week by week without making hardware and software changes. If you add those 2 abilities I could sell 5 of them tomorrow. I otherwise very much like my 32r.

YES! YES! YES! My case is I have a group of sequential guitar channels in UC, and now I've added one additional guitar input (DI), but its 10 channels down from the other guitars.

Additional examples/use-cases/ways of saying the same thing:

- reorder UC channel layout, regardless of the order they are physically cabled in

- channels 1,2,3 are drums, 22 now added as a drum channel. allow reorder of 1,2,3,22 to all be shown together in UC

- i want to move guitars (channels 6,7,8,20) to the right of bass (channels 9,10) in UC

If this were a UC only implementation, maybe it could be as simple as allowing us to simply drag any channel around within UC, preserving everything else? This would allow us to virtually lay out the console however we wished, without any physical changes.

Please please, i have moved from a mackie dl1608 to the studiolive 16r and i miss this feature here. If this can be added, the UC software would be awesome.

It's been years  Please we need this... A comprehensive way is to be able to assign tracks to Aux mixes, then each aux mix will have a clear view of what they can control, and also being able to reorder tracks per aux so each aux has different settings. But something like User Layers that can be saved by Scenes, alongside QMix-UC phone app support to view User Layers that are currently active, that would at least be good enough for now. I have multiple clients that use my mixer that have trouble navigating their IEM mix because the vocals are on channel 32 while everything else is channels 1-12.
