Does it matter if I use either mono or stereo 1/4" jack cables going from my 44VSL's mains to my Rockit 5's?

Not sure what you mean by "stereo or mono". I would use TRS balanced connects. I have Rockit 8's and sub and that works just fine. Looking at a TRS connect it will have a tip, ring, and sleeve. Three thingies, not two found on unbalanced connects. Feel free to ask any questions you may have in the future.
