Will updating to UC Surface 1.5 after uninstalling prior version retain my scenes and settings?

I am still concerned that going through the uninstall process described in the first reply will erase all my current scenes and settings.  Are those all retained in this process of uninstall/reinstall?  From the original reply, am I using the wrong version of UC Surface?  It definitely shows 1.6.1 when I click on About UC Surface.

Probably... but why take a chance? Back up before you update...
