For some reason, my firepod is no longer syncing to my computer. I keep getting the red light. I have windows XP, its a home made computer that I had someone make fore me. I had it working on my computer until about a week ago when my computer needed a quick repair. Since then it has not been syncing. All they did was put a new power source in the computer, mine had fried.

I have already reinstalled the drivers.
The computer does recognize the firewire ports, just not the firepod.
I have tried using 2 different firewire cords
each of my firewire ports
And a second firepod

I had this exact problem about a year ago, but dont remember how it was fixed.

Also, I use the firepod as my Sound Card. Dont know if that would help or not.

Any ideas?

Does the unit show up in the computer under Sound, Video, and Game controllers?

What firewire chipset is in your computer?

We need a lot of information to help you with this one.  You might be better off submiting a technical support ticket on it.

Boy, What with XP no longer supported, and the fact your PS went, and maybe took the FP with it... AND the FP also discontinued I would recommend a Tech Ticket as potentially the ONLY solution here... MAYBE they will help?. As these OS systems fall off the radar no support is typically available, however. If it were me, I would find another (supported) computer and install and see if the FP still works....Otherwise, you may be at EOL for these items...

Just so you know, the Firewire protocol is  (figuratively) a HIGH power interface, that is to say the Firewire provides more power to the devices than about any other... so, if the power supply has issues it often can pass those on to the device...
