I have been using a am familiar with Mixcraft 8 Pro. I am getting acclimated to Studio One, but would like to use the FX, VST's, Plugins and so one (may be some redundancy in terminology, here).

Eventually, I want these other DAW's-including free versions of Ableton and Pro Tools off of my machine totally, but I would like to be able to keep any usable resources from those. Simple mapping could be an issue if I uninstall the others, I think.

Help appreciated.

Hey there,

The thing is there is various type of plugins and you'll be able to add some to S1 but not all :

Native plugins from other daws ( basics audio effect & instruments from ableton, effect protools etc... ) you won't be able to use them in an other daw than the one they were coming from. (except using rewire which consist to open a daw within one track in an other daw ) .

External plugins types VST VST2 VST3 VSTi you'll be able to have them in studio one pro or studio one artist if you have the external plugin/rewire plugin. In order to see them in your S1's browser you wan't to go to preferences > locations > plugins & vst's and there add the locations of the folders with your vst's .

External plugins types AU (on mac only ) // Type AAX you won't since it pro tools only .

On my side i use ABleton for creation and the native fx's and instruments are awesome, i didn't liked pro tools so much especially after discovering S1 . So i would recommend Live for creation and live's and S1 for mixing & mastering as an awesome solution .

Hope this might help,

Kind regards
