If I purchase studio one 4 artist and then purchase the vst plugin support, and then one day studio one 5 upgrade releases, do I need to purchase the vst plugin support again for the new version?

I would guess you don't have to repurchase the VST plugin in support again since it will work with both version 4 and 5. It would work just like the upgrade from 3 to 4 went.
