Unable to make Studio 1824 audio card work on Linux system

Hello,

I'm trying to use a Studio 1824 USB audio card on a Linux system (Ubuntu 16.04). The equipment seems correctly detected and exposed through ALSA system, but I cannot use both aplay or arecord utilities for playing or recording sound to/from audio card. Below is pasted all interesting results for my use-case, but I can produce more outputs if anything is necessary!

Do anyone in the community use such an audio card on Linux system?

I've tested a Studio 68 on the same system, with success this time, in both playing and recording.

After some tests with ALSA tools, I found a way to make it work (but it's only an ugly workaround I should understand the root of!). By adding some parameters to the arecord line, I first try to start a record using 8 channels (which fails). Then, I'm able to start capture with all the 18 channels and everything seems fine!

As my goal is to write my own application which interacts with this soundcard, this workaround allows me to continue. But I suspect there's something else I could do, like update device firmware or get a newer kernel version...

It's not supported.

There is now a driver for the 1810c
