4848 needs additional line inputs and a couple of mic, is DigiMax D8 a good option to add via ADAT?

I currently have the 4848 and need 4 more line inputs for my current set-up and 2 mic inputs / preamp.  I was looking at different options for the most cost effective approach.  I'm considering the DigiMax D8.  Although it's dated, it appears to fit the nitch nicely.  Thoughts or suggestions?

Yes, the DigiMax D8 will work. Any 3rd party pre-amp with ADAT output will work.
