How do I connect external gear like my Art Pro VLA II to my studiolive 24?

What I am trying to do is connect my ART PRO VLA II to my Studiolive 24. I'm not too familiar with the routing aspects of the studiolive series iii and I'd like to know if i can connect outboard gear to my studiolive 24. Is there step by step instructions to configuring digital patching?
