My son built a computer using the MSI MPG z390 gaming pro carbon motherboard then realized it did not have a thunderbolt port. We are considering purchasing a PCIE thunderbolt 2 card to connect the Quantum thunderbolt. Would this work or does the motherboard itself have to have a Thunderbolt 2 input?
