Hey guys, so I primarily work with Electronic Music and my first DAW was FL Studio 4 in around 2005 and I was an only FL user until 2007. In 2007 I learned a little bit of Nuendo in an Electronic Music Production course that I had taken at SAE and it was easy to implement the same in Cubase. Also around that same time I was also introduced to ABLETON LIVE 5 by some musician friends of mine, though I always felt FL to be more user-friendly for me at that time. However, various life events happened and I got too busy to be working on any kind of music for the next decade. A while back I finally decided that I want to be making some music and I tried out the demos and lite versions of some of the previous DAWS I have worked with and FL just didnt appeal to me anymore or I seem to have outgrown it.

I eventually settled with using Ableton Live and CUBASE. I strictly use LIVE mostly for my initial creative process and for synthesis especailly in the session view and some nifty Max for Live Devices. To be fair I use a combination of both since CUBASE also has some really cool MIDI manipulation. However, there are certain things about production workflow that I feel can be done more easily in other DAWS in comparison to LIVE - Arrangement for example. I've felt CUBASE is a whole lot more powerful than LIVE when it comes to arrangement and working with audio files and also the MIDI modifier feature. But CUBASE though it can pretty much do everything it feels a bit clunky and is a bit complicated in terms of Routing and setting up various things. This is where I was told by a mate to have a look at STUDIO ONE or BITWIG. BITWIG looks great but I am focussing on S1 right now and they also got a crossgrade option with a discount.

But I have a few concerns when it comes to using S! as my main DAW is there any real-time MIDI randomisation effects in S1 which does the same function as MIDI Modifiers and Density in CUBASE where I can specify a range for the real-time randomisation of note length, velocity, pitch and probability of notes to be played and this makes it easy to find and create interesting patterns especially for staccato-is leads and random drum patterns.

Maybe these features are there and I don't know how to use them or find them which might be that I have overlooked these features. For eg. I found the Repeater in Studio One to be a cool NoteFX similar to the MIDI Echo feature of CUBASE and Note Echo in LIVE. Does the Sequencer have any play randomisation feature like the Mono Sequencer device in LIVE for note randomisation or making random sequences for leads & percussion?

Can somebody please help me if these features already exist?
