Have a plug-in widget that shows the waveform in real-time of the track. I've been using Ozone's Maximizer to show me this function. But I know Presonus can easily make this tool to improve efficiency. For me, this tool is extremely helpful in determining the actual loudness of a sample. Sometimes it's hard to hear the true differences with the faders. Only when you bounce out the actual track you realize that certain samples were just too loud when they should've been at a certain level. In addition to the widget, this could also be at the side of the screen as a DAW integration.

For an Instrument track, or as you are playing a track with a bunch of plug-ins, you would bring up this tool and it would show you the resulting wave form?

We can already see the wave form for clips and samples.

(Cakewalk has had this feature for years.  I used it just as you described, to check the overall "look")
