I want to connect my bass amp to the Audiobox 96, but I thought I read in the paperwork to NOT do that. However, a friend said he did it with no problems.  I just don't want to fry it with my amp...

Does your bass have a pre-amp?   What bass amp?  Does it have a d/i output on it?  Here is a Wikipedia article on d/i boxes.   (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DI_unit).     ##### You will notice that it mentions some bass amps have a d/i out.  If you have a d/i out on your amp then connect using this.  If not and the bass is passive, then just plug it into the Audiobox 96 instrument input.  If its an active bass, then a d/i box will allow you to plug straight into the audiobox.  I use the passive d/i box shown in the article on the wiki page for my active Music Man bass.  Don't put an active bass thru instrument level inputs.  If the amp only has line out then do not connect this to the Audiobox directly as it only accepts instrument or mic level inputs NOT line level.
