Hi,
I am using M-Audio 61, but i would like to have a synthesiser too(to use with live performances with great sounds for a less budget :) ).
So that i decided to buy Yamaha MX61 since i can meet both requirements(sounds from Motif + DAW support) within a low budget.
Does anyone have the experience of using MS61 together with Studio one?
I know automatic assigning of control functions cannot be expected since MX61 is not included in the Studio one device list. or MX 61 give that special support only for Cubase, Logic and ProTools. But i can map those manually and mappings can be saved with Studio one.
Technically it should be possible to just use as an external midi device. But does anyone had/faced problems with that?
Like, know before buying it :) to avoid disappointments.

Thanks for your answers,
Nadis

Yes, you can manually set that keyboard up with Studio One. Here are general instructions.

Please read these articles for setting up External MIDI Devices with Studio One 3:
http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001352966-Studio-One-3-How-do-I-setup-a-hardware-keyboard-synthesizer-in-Studio-One-3-

Make sure the keyboard is set to external MIDI clock. Studio One has to be the master device.

1. For the piano keys, you will need to create a New Keyboard, with the MIDI Receive From assigned to the MIDI port the device is connected to, but don't need the MIDI "Send To." Set this to Default Instrument Input.
2. To use the Sounds of the keyboard, you will need to create a New Instrument with the MIDI "Send To" set to your keyboard MIDI port. Check all the MIDI clock options.
3. To use the controls (knobs, buttons, faders) of the keyboard , you will need to Create a New Control Surface with the MIDI Receive From assigned to the MIDI port the device is connected to. Here is more information on that: http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210040463-MIDI-External-Devices-Control-Surfaces-Setup

Then check out this article on setting up to record using an External Device: Setting up to record with an External MIDI Device Studio One:
http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001418283-Setting-up-a-Song-to-Record-With-External-MIDI-Devices

We also encourage you to create a thread about this on the Presonus user forum. https://forums.presonus.com/viewforum.php?f=108 This will allow for back and forth discussions about an issue or question.

Thinking about going for Yamaha MOXF6 instead of MX61 since it is rich in sounds.
I expect still the configuration should be same as you described.
Thank you very much for descriptive Answer. I Appreciate it. :)
