Background Humanisation

Hi.

I was wondering if humanisation could be implemented in Studio One 4. It's not regular humanisation though. The idea is to keep the project clean, and let the plotted MIDI notes stay plain as they are. In the toolbar (for regular MIDI and patterns) there would be an on-button, and the degree of randomness (for each piece on a track): The MIDI notes are adjusted forward and backwards in the background (degree in time), so the project keeps clean. This way you won't have to bother with realism of expression: Just plot in the MIDI notes, and the sound of it is real instantaneously. This works together with swing, for example... The same concept would be for velocity: Decide the basic groove (velocity marking), and the configured accuracy (max miss above and below the actual velocity for each note) will make the groove breath at a glance. :)

When hitting play on the start of a MIDI piece, some notes with humanisation would begin before the actual starting-point. The solution would be to let Studio One take with these MIDI notes by playing them somewhere from start to end (inside the note). (I think Cubase does this.) :P

Best regards,

The actual notes and velocities are not moved. The idea is that the humanisation is in the background. This makes it easy to work with the project. The degree of notes and velocities moved backwards, forwards, up and down ( from the actual places ), is adjusted with to buttons.

Note: If the first note is humanised to the left ( in the background ), and you press play, the note is triggered if the play bar is inside the start of the note and the end. Problem solved…

I hope this is a good idea, and I hope to get your feedback and thoughts about this feature request.
