Question

I’m considering two interface options Studio 1810 / Studio 1824.  I have a 2010 15” MacBook Pro 2.66GHz, 64bit Core 2 Duo, 4G Ram, w USB2.0 & FireWire ports. I already have a Digimax D8 used with a different audio interface that is becoming obsolete. I will mainly using this to record rehearsals and pre-production for my band; basic 4piece, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocal. 

Questions:

Will my DigiMax D8 work with either Studio 1810 or Studio 1824? 

Is the word clock necessary to sync the inputs from the D8?

Yes the D8 will work with the 1810 and 1824.

Word clock is always your best sync option if you have a choice over ADAT.
