Do I have to download any of the software to use my audio box with my iPad?

So I got a pre-Sonus kit but I do not own any computers or PCs. I bought an iPad hoping that the software would download onto that but it does not work on my iPad. Is the software necessary to use my kit or can I just hook it up to anything
