Sony VAIO 2012

i7 4 core

8GB RAM

Windows 10

Studio One 3.3

Focusrite 2i4 w/ most current drivers.

I program my drum patterns with SampleOne. I am having an issue when I open old projects where the sound loaded will glitch and play extra notes OR while I am working on a project, the sounds will glitch if I skip  through the song or if I load a VST.

This is so annoying because S1 even exports a mixdown with the glitch in the audio. I have tried turning off all plugins, etc.

If you are running an E-series Sony Vaio laptop from 2012, the sources that I have found on the internet state that the system has a 5400 rpm hard drive.  You will want to use a 7200 rpm hard drive or higher for working with audio applications.  This may be why you are having this problem.  You may want to submit a support ticket on this issue.

Without more information, it might be hard to pinpoint exactly what is happening.  Make sure that you have updated to version 3.3.1 of Studio One and that you have installed all of your Windows updates.  You may want to try removing your settings from the program and re-configure your External Devices.  Make sure that the MIDI controller that you are using is only installed one time when re-configuring.  You may also want to limit the channels that your MIDI controller is sending on. Here are instructions for removing your settings.  Make sure that you create the backup file, so you can easily put them back, should this not resolve your issue.

1.  Go to Help>Open Settings folder.

2.  Copy the contents of the folder over to a folder on your desktop.

3.  Close S1 and delete the contents of the settings folder with the exception of the user.license file.

4.  Open S1 and go to Studio One>Options (Preferences on a Mac) to reconfigure your settings.

5.  Test to see if the problem is resolved.  If it is not, please feel free to copy your settings files back over from the backup that you created in step 2.

*If you are missing presets or Sound Sets after doing this, simply double-click one of your Sound Sets under Documents>Studio One>Sound Sets.

From an audio perspective, please try increasing your Device Block Size in the Mix Control for your Focusrite, prior to opening Studio One.  You will want to see if this is a latency problem.

Should you continue to have the issue, you will want to submit a support ticket at my.presonus.com.  We may need to take a look at your system or get a .song file to possibly identify a bug.  You may want to complete the song in the version of Studio One that it was created in, and bounce your Sample One tracks before moving to a newer version as a workaround.
