There could be a button next to "Synchronize Editor to Arrangement" to constrain the edit view to only see the selected event and not the whole timeline, so when I zoom out full in the Edit Window it'll just stop at the event boundaries.

It's a simpler workflow where you can focus at the part you're editing without extra stuff around that part in the timeline.

I don't need to see the whole timeline in the edit window, I can see it in the arrange window.

View -> Zoom -> Zoom to Selection (Shift+S) is what you're looking for!
