Delete orphan clips left behind by crossfade

When I press X to create a crossfade between two adjacent clips, Studio One extends them both to make an overlap. If I later go back and punch in to re-record one of the clips, the section that was extended backward remains as a tiny orphaned clip. My tracks end up looking like this:

This is visually confusing and often gets in the way of editing.

Please can you include an option to make Studio One automatically delete crossfade extensions when the parent clip is moved or overwritten? 

(This would also make it a lot easier to copy takes from one place to another – at present the backward extension also means that when you let a clip snap into a ew position, it actually plays slightly behind the beat.)
