Beginner using Studio One Artist with QWERTY Keyboard set up as external midi controller with Audiobox 22VSL.  I see the vu response on track marker but no responses on mixer channels or when recording drum pieces.

You will want to make sure that you have loaded a virtual instrument and that you have armed the track for that instrument.  You will also want to select the Qwerty keyboard from the Control drop-down at the top of the screen so that the Qwerty panel is being shown.  Here is a screenshot of the Control drop-down as well as the Qwerty panel.
