I have recently upgraded my Mac Pro 2009 8 core 16 gigs of Ram up to a 12 core with 128 gigs of ram.

Was this a wise decision?

With all those cores and Ram will Studio One make use of all this.

It seems that after a certain amount of plugin inserts it doesn't take that much to choke the system out.

I am curious to know how people are getting hugh track counts with lots of inserts without the help of a UAD DSP system.

Sure it depends on your plugins of choice. I use the usual suspects. Waves. Slate. Sonnox.

With the 3.5 update the FAT channel seems to have been well received along with the Console Shaper.

This will certainly help me to use less 3rd party plugins.

But my plugins for mixing are well within CPU reason.

Please chime in if you can better help understand the Multithread, Cores and RAM usage in Studio One.

Thanks in advance.
