1.The AR16 calls for a FAT32 HDSC Card - does ANY 32g card work?
The StudioLive AR-series mixers work with most SD and SDHC cards. We recommend full-size cards, not micro-SD cards in SD adapters.
2.Does it HAVE to say HDSC on the card?
Yes. The Card should be labeled as "SD" or "SDHC". Other SD card formats are not compatible.
3.Do I have to manually format it on my comp prior to plugging it into the board?
No. The standard FAT-32 format that is already installed should work. However, if you are having difficulty getting a card to be read by your mixer, we recommend manually formatting it as FAT-32 using your computer's utilities.
4. Is there a way to tell how much room is left on the SD card after recording, or do I have to move it to pc to check that?
No. The StudioLive AR-series mixers do not provide a remaining space indication. You will need to monitor this using your computer.
5. Do I have to rename each session with a song to ensure they are not recorded over, or does the board automatically move on to the next free area of the card?
Each file will automatically be given the prefix "SL-AR" followed by a number from 00 to 99. Once all 100 name slots have been used on the card (SL-AR_00 to SL-AR_99) the Record button will flash 3 times and you will not be able to record to that card until some of the files have been renamed or removed.
