Hi

im recording my Alesis DM6 e drum kit into Studio One 3 Prime using USB cable, so far so good.

Unlike when I record an audio track and can go to automation and easily pan that track (left or right) in the stereo field, this does not seem to be a simple option for a midi track?

I know I can go to automation and add Pan -FX but which one will allows me left - right panning as everything I have tried so far does not achieve what i want

Hope its clear, just simple L-R panning in the stereo field is all i need for midi tracks (drum kit added as the instroment part with Prescence

Also , how do I trigger my own drum kit sounds instead of using Prescence Instrument Tracks

Hi,

Any midi performance you hear that is playing a virtual instrument will have to be using an audio channel in the mixer and that channel will have a pan control on it.

If you want to trigger your drum machine or kit sounds, and external synth, have a look at the tech support article below for how to setup external synths.
