The problems...

  1. "Link Track Selection" only effects MIDI tracks from switching when selected in the arrange window
  2. You're working on a MIDI track in the editor... you click an audio clip in the arrange window... the editor windows switches to the audio track you chose in the arrange window but you wanted the editor to remain on the MIDI track you were working on
  3. You have two display monitors and you'd like to just keep your audio editor for a particular track 'locked' on screen two...you open a popup editor window and drag it to the second screen... you momentarily select a MIDI track in the arrange window... now the popup editor switches to the piano roll though you wanted it to remain on the audio waveform you were editing

Possible solutions...

  1. "Link Track Selection" button handles Audio and MIDI tracks in the editor. This way if the "Link track selection" button is deactivated, the track in the editor window can stay frozen regardless of what track is selected in the arrange window. Once "Link Track Selection" is activated, it reverts back to the way S1 currently handles active arranger/edit window changes.
  2. Double clicking an arranger track opens track in editor as usual, but if "Link Track Selection" is on, the editor view now freezes the double clicked track and doesn't change when single clicking clips in the arrange window. Allows fade outs, crops, copy/paste etc. without changing editor view
  3. 'Hide/show' or 'track list' options to manually select which track is active in each editor window
  4. Allow multiple popup editor windows clicking a '+' on the editor. Allow each view to be 'frozen' regardless of arrange window track selection

 Thanks!!
