I’m a newbie to using a mixer, but I want to try a set-up that allows me to port all of my equipment into the mixer, so that I can listen to those mixed sources in the headphones only. But still be able to record if I so choose. I just recently purchased a PreSonus StudioLive AR8 mixer. I would like to send my guitar and vocals to the mixer for a simpler way to monitor that source in the headphones. What is the proper channel strip and settings setup do I use to accomplish it?

I have an Fender Acoustasonic 30 DSP Amp that supports a Balanced Line out with a Ground Lift button and Level knob. It also has a STEREO FX LOOP (RETURN/SEND) feature too. I use a Boss GT-10 Effects pedal that I have used a basic one cable method to send to and project the sound when playing live. And since I don’t own a PA, I use the second channel on the Fender Acoustasonic 30 DSP, to accomplish that.

In addition to that, I also have a BeatBuddy drum pedal that I use interdependently with my Fender Champion 30 DSP Amp. Currently I go directly into that amp and live source the sound. It only has a 1/4” headphone jack is what is printed on the face of the amp, but the PDF manual file refers to it as, “EXTERNAL SPEAKER - This jack provides an output to an external speaker enclosure. The enclosure must have a minimum impedance of 8Ω. Using this jack automatically disables the

internal speaker.” I am assuming that it is not a stereo jack, but rather a mono jack line out? Unfortunately he PDF file documentation is pretty limited. But I assumed that I could just input my BeatBuddy pedal into the Fender Champion 30 DSP Amp., and come out of the headphone jack directly into a mixer channel port. What I’m trying to accomplish is to emulate how I play live. However, I know I have other cabling options that might be better suited using my Boss GT-10 control pedal.

As far as you questions for me, my computer is an Asus Laptop 64-bit PC running Windows 10 Pro & another running Home version. The application version is Studio One 3.5.4.45392, Capture 2.3.6.45267, and all of the other suit of plug-in software that came with my PreSonus StudioLive AR8. In addition I use Audacity 2.1.3, and Sonar X1 LE (X1A Build 208) However, it is my intention to convert to, and use the Studio One 3 and Capture 2 DAW software primarily. And only use the Audacity and Sonar DAW software for other purposes. As yet, I am still in the learning curve phase and don’t have any other clear ideas on how I want to use those in the future?

Any help, links, or videos that you could provide with the one or multiple connection options I could use, would be most helpful.

Thank you.
