My current setup is an AKG P220 mic running to a PreSonus TubePre V2, to a mackie ProFX8 board, then to a Presonus AudioBox USB which then sends it into the computer to be captured on Presonus Studio One 2.
No, I do not have things configured this way only for the mic, I do have multiple other audio needs that have resulted in this crazy setup. However, I am looking to simplify (as well as update) a few things.
My question is; If I get the StudioLive AR8 USB, will it's built in 'Class A' preamp on each channel be enough for me to record with my AKG P220 without having to use my TubePre?
Huge fan of Presonus - I've been a customer for near 15 years!!! Really hope this new StudioLive line will help me simplify all the clutter in my office!
