I'm having a good time mixing dialogue on my 30-70 track ADR sessions on the Faderport 16 (and lots of other stuff), just a day after purchase. I've placed the unit almost directly behind the keyboard, so I have as few problems with finding my tracks as possible. The view you get on your scribble strip displays is highly dependent on the angle from which you look at them.

My problem is the text.

I currently use this unit in MCU mode(Logic MCU to be exact) in Reaper v5.95 x64 on Windows 7 x64.

The track name sits on the left of the scribble strip display. As the original MCU, which I'm replacing with this unit (more faders, less desk space, more spare parts available, etc.), expects SIX CHARACTERS for a track name, that's what the control surface plugin in Reaper is sending, which is fine.

It would help me when locating my tracks if the track names were easier to read on the scribble strips. One way to do this is to use the space available.

Request:

The scribble strip name should use all available space on one row of text in MCU(Logic) mode.

Instead of this, where the brackets stand for the edge of the scribble strip:

  [ Chris     ]

you'd get this

  [ Chris ]

This will make the tracks easier to locate. A centred view is also much preferred, because the first character of the track name on the right-most scribble strip, at the current text size can be partially obscured on the very left edge of the units housing around the scribble strip.

-Edit- I realize I can change the display mode with SYSEX commands. My request is to simply allow this to set a default display mode for the MCU Logic mode. Perhaps it's necessary to make a mode where the peak meter is horizontal on the second text row.

Thanks for a very promising tool. I hope to put it to good use.
