Dear Presonus/Notion team,

I am very happy and content with your product Notion. I am currently arranging a piece for an accordion orchestra and in some way I can work with Notion to do that. However, I cannot note register changes and I would like to have the accordion sound plugins in order to really hear what the arrangement sounds like in the end.

Do you know if there are any third parties providing accordion plugins for your software (I found none) or are you planning on integrating this feature in Notion?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

There is a cheap library which contains several world instruments, including the accordion.  I have it and its quite a steal.

For $25 you can get the entire library in whichever format you prefer. I use the .sfz files and load them into Notion using the free Sforzando Player for Mac, enabled as a VST plug-in in Notion.

Hello Martin,

I heartily second your motion for including accordion registration symbols in Notion.  However, PreSonus should be aware that there are many such symbols, both for treble and for bass, and that the reed setup for a particular accordion will determine which symbol set should be used.

I would also ask PreSonus if they could come up with a scheme to enter accordion bass in AAA notation and play the selection back with full chords.  I know that they will require an adequate description of AAA notation to do this, and that can be found in a number of places on the Web, or they can ask me or any accordionist.

As for adding accordion sounds to the library, there are many sources of these sounds in many formats.  The previous two answers have already given you two sources.

Are you aksing for an accordion sound shipped with Notion or one available as an expansion pack? If not, you're in the wrong forum.

I just came across a VSTi called Peti.  It can emulate many free-reed instruments.  Although it can be completely customized, it does come with some 40+ presets, many of which are accordion sounds.  There is a free demo that will not save settings and shuts down after twenty minutes, but the full version is only $48.  And yes, it works in Notion, Studio One, and perhaps a few more DAWs and notation programs.  Here's the link:

Give it a try.

Hoi Martin,

als je nog steeds geen goede accordeon bibliotheek hebt, dan kan ik je onderstaande adviseren, want ik werk er nu al een jaar mee, en de diverse accordeons klinken echt goed. kijk bij...Bestservice.com/accordions_2.html#
