Am i the only one thinking this would be mandatory?

You got to be able to adjust the balance between L&R mains

This is not a necessary feature in my mind. If you set up your speakers and amps properly, there should be no need to pan the mains. If one side of your speakers is louder than the other for some reason, then you should make adjustments to your amps.
