I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, and while I was using it on my MacBook Pro, it worked great.
Now I've switched to Windows and it's been giving me problems. Loud crackles and pops when playing more than 3 notes of a piano sound, and I already raised the buffer to sell mobile 512. Also the latency won't go below 24ms for some reason.
I'm almost certain they put together a half-hearted Windows ASIO driver and that's to blame for this. (In macOS it was 11.6ms with the same settings, buffer at 512, sample rate 44100 Hz sample rate.)
Just to be sure, I just tried my MPC Renaissance's built-in audio interface and that gives me 5.3ms latency at 256 buffer size, 48000 Hz sample rate.
I can use the MPC Renaissance for now, but I need a portable audio interface to travel with, so now I'm looking for suggestions for a solid USB Audio interface under $500 with low latency and great performance when running in Windows 10.
I'm running Cubase if that makes any difference.
