I am using a MXL770 Condensor mic for my presonus audiobox96 and when I plug it in using a female XLR to 1/4" cable, my studio one 4 detects it, as in it shows a little green signal bobbing when I tap the mic but no actual sound or voice, just buzzing when I make it louder. When I go into my computers recording devices, it just does not recognize the mic as being an input for a recording device and I do not know how to make it work. Do I need a different XLR cord? How do I get my computer to detect the mic?

Condensor microphones require phantom power which is transmitted through the XLR cable.

You'll want to microphone cable (male at one end female at the other) in order to use that microphone.

I'm assuming that 1/4" cable is just TS and not TRS.  And even if it was, I'm not sure the AudioBox is designed to expect phantom when using a 1/4" cable.
