hi I have one versions of artist but two codes are coming up I'm thinking about upgrading  to artist 5 but does it matter which one I chose to do so

Short answer - No.  Long answer - install artist v4 on your computer and use on of the keys.  Go to your product page on the Presonus website, find the key that has been used (it should show as one activation).  Note down the key you have used and then enter that key as your upgrade key.  Good luck.
