Question

We decided to put the whole band through the mixer and PA system. I have the guitars going through a pro DI box into the Presonus mixer.

The bass guitar seems to be the problem as there is a lot of hum I can’t get rid of. We need to use the boost on the DI box to get enough volume from the bass. I tried plugging the bass direct into the mixer and I have to say it sounded better.

What would anyone suggest

Use a ground lift on the DI box or get a DI box with one. Ensure the power on the stage is solid and check the bass itself for grounding issues. This issue is not related to the mixer.
