In my recorded tracks of my electric guitar there is really bad crackling and just background noise from my pickups being so sensitive on my guitar and it is taking away from the ryhtm of the song. How do I get rid of the background noise and just have the notes I want???

Hi.  If you could describe the signal chain you are using I may be able to help more.  What pickups (active or passive)?  Are you connected direct injection to the interface or are you mic'ing an amp?  Are there effects in the chain between your guitar and interface or amp?  Have you tried adding a noise gate to the inputs?

Active pickups. I’m micing and amp. And no effects. Just high gain for a heavy metal sound ya know. And no I have not tried to use that. I’m brand new to the recording game so I don’t even know what that is actually haha.
