After installing Studio One 5 Does online activation mean the software can only be used when online,
I work at 2 locations one with and one without an internet connection

At the location that doesn't have internet, you might be able to tether the computer to your phone to activate. I've never tried to activate offline so I don't even know if that's an option. But once it is activated online, it's activated. I'm offline a lot and  I've never had a problem opening and running when offline.
