Why does "display off" suddenly appear on tracks and how do I get the display back on?

display off message randomly appears How do I get the record arm button and info dropdowns back?

Right-click in the grey area that contains the display off message, track name etc. A menu will pop up. Click 'show/hide automation'.

Should do the trick.
