how can i hear the metronome to record when i set my audiobox usb 96 to imput instead of playback?

Im trying to record acoustic guitar with a metronome in studio one 4 but when i set the audiobox to imput rather than playback, i cant hear the metronome anymore.  i want to know how i can hear the metronome clicking so i can record in time.
