I think that it would be very helpful and make Studio One easier to use if file and folder shortcuts were shown in the browser.

I often have files/folders in my sample library that fit more than one category, so having the browser show shortcuts in the "files" tab would be very helpful for linking to other folders when they fit more than one category. (like shortcuts in windows explorer)

Please vote this up if you think Studio One 3 needs this feature

Hi joeogle,

I've just voted (because I wanted to create the same FR).
However, just to be sure, I want to check if we're speaking about the same.
When opening an FX, VSTi or Note FX window, it's currently possible
to switch to the previous or next preset.
(By default it's Alt+PageUp/Alt+PageDown I think.)

In my opinion, it would be very useful to be able to switch to
the first preset of the previous/next preset folder.
So instead to switch all the presets inside of the folder BASS,
you could directly jump to PADS - for example.

I guess this is what your request is - so I won't need to create it.

Thanks.

Hi justinmeyer, sorry for the late response, I don't know i you'll get this.

You're suggestion is a very good FR, I hadn't even thought of that!

However, I was meaning file/folder shortcuts in the "files" tab (like shortcuts in windows explorer), as I often have files/folders in my sample library that fit more than one category, so having the browser show shortcuts to them would be helpful.

I have updated my question to add clarity.

Cheers

This is surprising because file-system shortcuts seem integral to an efficient DAW browser.

Samples end up in various folder locations within the filesystem hierarchy, often located within the folder trees of associated products. Shortcuts are useful in order to present all related samples in a common folder hierarchy,
Example: A producer will likely have many products and collections containing drum samples. With file system short-cuts, all the various folders containing drum samples (with all their different actual locations within the file system) can be represented as existing within the same common folder tree. Without file system shortcuts, the producer must remember all the various different locations around his file system where there happen to be drum samples; and must then take the time to crawl through the file system finding these various folders - one by one - in order to audition and select drum samples.

Please Presonus, add support for file-system short-cuts within the Studio One browser.

I'd like to be able to have a command to assign to  a midi controller that opens and closes a folder in the browser.  If there is one that works correctly, I haven't been able to find it.
