My MacBook is plugged into my StudioLive 16.4.2 via Firewire and when I wasn't listening through UC, I could hear my samples on the Yamaha DTX just fine. Now that I have UC 2.0 running I hear everything but the DTX. Any ideas?

You cannot use UC Surface 2.0 with a classic SL 16.4.2. The latest and greatest is "Universal Control" 1.7.4. For more information have a look at the download page:

Presonus tech support told me to download 2.0 for the SL and it works fine hearing drums. It's the DTX that I'm not hearing. He had me download the one you mentioned for the 192 and that works fine.

Are you really sure? The 192 series works with UC Surface 2.0 and Studio One 3, the legacy mixers need UC Control 1.7.4 because of their different technical architecture. Studio 192 and SL 1642 are totally different generations of products that can not be linked/combined except by a normal audio connection. Studio 192 is a USB 3.0 interface, SL 1642 a FireWire 400 interface.

Here is the response from presonus that worked

The issue here is that you are running Universal Control 2.0 which is not compatible with the StudioLive 16.4.2.

In order to use both the StudioLive and Studio 192 on the same computer your will need to uninstall Universal Control and reinstall in a specific order.

Please download Universal Control 2.0 here:

**Please run the uninstall package first then reinstall Universal Control 2.0.

After installing UC 2.0 please download UC 1.7.4 here:

You will need to use UC 2.0 for the Studio 192 and UC 1.7.4 for the StudioLive.
