Hi,

I have a Studio-live 24.4.2 ai mixer and the Ethernet cable is connected to my 8 port router hub which is connected to my main router in another room via a Ethernet cable, when I switch on the desk it says no Ethernet please insert wifi dongle, no other option are available apart from "reboot mixer" it will connect using wifi but not direct Ethernet.

This document (pages 1 to 4) describes the basics of networking AI mixers. By default your mixer asks for dynamic IP addresses (the router has to fully boot before the mixer is powered on). These videos might be helpful for you:
