Performance Monitor Peaking for no apparent reason

I have a Lenovo Yoga with 8 GB ram and and I7 processor on Windows 10.

I have an AudioBox iTwo that is fully up to date. My monitors are made by PreSonus.

I use an Alesis V25 and Yamaha YPG-235 as my MIDI inputs.

I am operating on Studio One 3 Artist.

I don't see any reason why I should have problems with my performance. However, even if I only have 4 tracks running at the same time (Drums, Piano, two vocal tracks) with a couple reverb plugins my performance monitor peaks. I start hearing crackling throughout playback and even recording.

I really don't want to reinstall Studio One so as to not risk losing any of my work, and I also don't want to switch DAWs, but I'\m getting to that point, ya know?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It may not help but I'm having te same issue on a MAC using an aggregate IO. I had to use a single audio device to get it to stop. Seems to be something to do with keeping clocks or differences managed.

Hope it helps.
