When I select 64 samples buffer size, Studio clicks and pops very badly

But when I select 96 samples, then it's all fine. How is that possible? there is very little difference between 64 and 96, like 2 ms. 96 takes like 5% of CPU usage in my current project, but 64 is >100%. Any suggestions? thanks

My Audio Interface is Steinberg UR242

This is something that is determined by your computer and the way it is built. 64 is pretty low and many computers can not handle 64 reliably.

If you really need and want 64 you may try using other USB ports since some computers have USB hubs sharing bandwith internally and that may cause trouble. Other things to try is disabling wifi, web-cams and other equipment not necessary for music production. Disabling Intel Speed step or similar in bios may also help maximizing the success finding ultra low latency.
