Why does Studio One (and other DAWS) have missing dll files

asked Jul 27, 2017 in Studio One 3 by nightingalep (270 points)

Whenever I try to run my Cubase Software, or Studio One Software (the right) I always receive these messages.  For both, I have tried reinstalling multiple times, had many windows updates and had a family member who works with computers try and fix it, and he was not able to fix the issue either.  The strange thing is that this software worked on my last laptop, which is the same exact model as the new one I am trying to use it on now.  I'm using Windows 8.1 for both

The manufacturer is ASUS.

The model is X200MA

Using Studio One 3 Artist

64-bit operating system

x64 based processor

Any help will be greatly appreciated, it has been like this for months and it seems no one knows what to do. However it is strange that some things do not work (even itunes) , but others do such as the Vocaloid3 Tiny Editor (and probably the Standard V4 Editor)

I had read something before about issues with Windows C++ but I am not sure what that is about or what to do in regards to that.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry to hear about the recent issues you have been experiencing.

As you are on Windows 8, you will have to run Windows Update and update ALL available updates and service packs. This is required to ensure compatibility with modern software.  After installation of updates, please run the update application again as new updates may populate after installation.  If the updates do not fully update, you may wish to contact Microsoft to see if they can assist you with your update issue to have them installed properly.

If your motherboard supports Windows 10, you also make want to consider upgrading to W10.

If you still have issues with Studio One after this, please submit a ticket to support so we can look deeper into the issue:  Here is a link to create a ticket:
